SPRING 17 HAND PAINTING
HAND PAINTED SLIK S/S 17
In my 2017 silk hand-painted four-look collection, I was challenged to design and produce this collection in only two months. I found inspiration one day while out enjoying nature and thought to myself, “Wow what a wonderful artist God is. I wonder if I can capture this very feeling and scene that its creator made with clothes?” Viewing the brilliant colors in the flowers and the sky, feeling the warm breeze and smelling the fragrances of nature all inspired my collection. My goal for this collection was to be as natural as possible. That is was led to my design decisions to paint on the fabric using the intense bold colors you find in nature. I went for natural and flowy fabrics such as silk chiffon. In this collection, my consumer is a woman who enjoys art, nature and colors in her wardrobe.
