FREE LANCE DESIGN

I was commissioned by Georgia Pacific to create a dress completely out of their Sparkle paper towels, which is one of Georgia-Pacific's product lines.  I decided to hand paint and dye the Sparkle paper towels for the Susan G Komen Bubbles & Bling charity event in Atlanta in support of breast cancer research and fund-raising. I was given a three-week time span to complete the dress. I dyed and pleated each paper towel and painted the pink floral print on both the top and inside of the dress, with a braided paper towel to finish the inside of the train. This design helped raise $77,000 for Susan G. Komen’s fight against breast cancer.

The Process

I hand painted a floral print onto the paper-towel. The process of dying paper-towel pink took a week in a half to dry. This commissioned project required me to think on my feet and creative to meet the deadline.
